Abstract

This article proposes a Dialogical Discourse Analysis (DDA) of an episode of the Flow Podcast, aired in February 2022, in which host Monark suggests the creation of a Nazi party in Brazil, prompting a strong reaction from congresswoman Tábata Amaral. The research problem lies in understanding how both participants construct their arguments, considering the dialogical relationship between speaker, interlocutor, and audience. The general objective is to investigate the discursive effects of this argumentative onstruction within the framework of a polemical debate, highlighting how the I-other relation guides and shapes the enunciations. The methodology followed three steps: 1) selection of a three-minute excerpt from the interaction; 2) simple transcription of the segment, without specific conventions, preserving the discursive and ideological focus; and 3) application of DDA based on the concepts of dialogism, polyphony, heteroglossia, and ethical act, according to the postulates of Bakhtin (2002; 2015; 2017a; 2017b; 2020; 2022). The results reveal that Monark represents authoritarian and prejudiced voices, while Tábata reinscribes alterity as an ethical-discursive value. The analysis highlights strategies of objectification, denial, extremization, and dispute for audience adherence, framing the videocast as a dialogical arena for the circulation of hate speech and resistance.

Postgraduate student in Media Discourse Analysis. Specialist in Literature with an emphasis on Linguistics. Specialist in Reformed Theology at Faculdade Sudoeste, Bahia (FASU). Bachelor in Theology. Graduated in Letters-Portuguese Language from the State University of Pará (UEPA/CCSE). Member of the Study Group on Languages and Educational Practices in the Amazon (GELPEA) - CNPQ/UEPA, coordinated by Prof. Dr. Rita de Nazareth de Souza Bentes and Prof. Dr. Josane Daniela Freitas Pinto. Member of the Portuguese Language Teaching-Learning Literacy Study and Research Group (GEPLEALP) - CNPQ/UEPA, coordinated by Prof. Dr. Samuel Pereira Campos.     He has a post-doctorate in education from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (2013), a doctorate in Special Education (UFSCAR/2010), a master's degree in Letters - Linguistics (UFPA/1998), a specialization in Linguistics applied to the teaching and learning of Portuguese (UFPA/1993) and a degree in Letters (UFPA/1991). He is an adjunct professor at the State University of Pará; he works in the Postgraduate Program in Education (PPGED) - Master's and Doctorate in the line of research Cultural Knowledge and Education in the Amazon. Vice-chair of the PPGED-CCSE-UEPA (2022-2023). Member of the Study Group on Language and Educational Practices in the Amazon (GELPEA). Fields of activity: inclusive education; youth and adult education; dialogic studies of discourse in school and non-school practices.
